Requirements
- First aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in group homes or assisted living facilities is a plus.
- Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in client conditions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
- Experience in home & community care, hospice care, or long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment.
- Proficient in meal preparation and cooking for diverse dietary needs.
- Compassionate approach towards working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Ability to create and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Assist clients with mobility, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement effective patient care strategies.
