About The Position
Active Homecare has several immediate opportunities for experienced Caregivers & Personal Care Assistants to join their team. This is a very important role where support can allow loved ones to stay at home safely with their families and help avoid unnecessary hospitalization. Personal Care Aides are responsible for providing, restoring, maintaining, and promoting the health status of clients through home support, medical monitoring, client transportation services, and assistance with activities of daily living. Team members are expected to lead by example, maintaining a positive attitude, being thoughtful, supportive, productive, and dependable co-workers, keeping members safe, and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people they serve and those who care for them.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age for positions not requiring any driving for clients.
- At least 21 yrs of age for any positions requiring driving/running errands for clients.
- For positions that involve driving for client (i.e. errands/Dr. appointments): Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation and proof of vehicle registration and insurance are required.
- Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.
- Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
- Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members.
- Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Current Home Health Aid and/or C.N.A certification preferred.
- Minimum one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
- Prior experience working seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides support and assistance for members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.).
- Provide home support and assists in maintaining a healthy environment by performing the following duties (i.e: light cleaning, laundry, shopping and home safety).
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
- Observe members for change in condition or unusual occurrences. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Run errands as needed (i.e. shopping for food, personal items, meet and/or take to appointments).
- Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities, keeping a sanitary, clutter-free environment.
- Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws and standards.
- Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time.
