About The Position

The PC/Network Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades of computer hardware, software, and peripherals. This role also involves the installation of network communications equipment, including fiber optics and twisted pair hardware. The specialist will upgrade network hardware and software components as required and provide hardware and software telephone support to the campus community. Additionally, the position requires performing network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems, providing technical advice to University departments on software and hardware acquisitions, and writing and maintaining user documentation, training manuals, and help documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, computer information systems, or related field.
  • One to two years professional related experience and/or training in personal computing and network computing software, hardware and peripheral support.
  • Working knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Order processing systems, Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
