About The Position

The PC/LAN Technician performs PC and technical support activities for the Information Technology Center that supports seven Maricopa County departments. The Information Technology Center is a department of 40+ employees across four branches comprised of skilled, diverse, team-oriented individuals. Requirements

  • Three years of computer/network maintenance, desktop support, or technical support experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or a technology-related degree
  • PC desktop or help desk support experience
  • A+, Net+, Security+, or ITIL certification

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, email, and chat
  • Manage and maintain the ticketing system and keep client documentation up to date
  • Answer user questions and provide end-user assistance as required. Work with engineers and admins to resolve Tier 2 and 3 issues
  • Deploy computer imaging using SCCM
  • Triage issues, isolate and repair PC problems, run diagnostics, and troubleshoot programs
  • Configure and install PC hardware/software
  • Assist with office moves and new hardware deployments
  • Ability to multi-task between customers and technical issues
  • Configure mobile devices and manage via MDM (AirWatch)
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity from LAN/WiFi, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.
  • Maintain accurate inventory using asset management tools and conducting asset audits
  • Travel to remote sites within Maricopa County facilities
  • Other duties as assigned
