Your mission, roles and responsibilities Essential responsibilities and duties The PC&L Supervisor’s primary responsibilities include: Organization • The PC&L Supervisor manages a team of workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipment, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for inter-departmental delivery of materials to and from the production lines. QCDP Performance • Make sure quality, cost, and delivery indicators reflect customer expectations • Define, together with the supervisors of the other shifts and the Production Supervisors, QCDP targets for the GAPs (improvement versus actual situation): PPM, PPH, TRS, absenteeism, number of accidents, improvement ideas, etc. • Monitor performance during the shift and report accurate data at the end of the shift • Manage resources to reach results: adapt headcount to volume, etc • React in case of a problem: take care of immediate containment, call support functions, build corrective - action plans Drive actions for improvement: • Know team problems, seek feedbacks • Define area for performance improvements • Drive teamwork and problem-solving activities, lead Problem Solving Groups and workshops (5S, Hoshin, TPM, SMED, 8 Quality Basics…) • Drive improvement ideas generation and implementation • Ensure audits of standardized work are conducted by GAP leaders on a daily basis and ensure corrective actions are taking place. • Audits once a week with each GAP Leader the respect of standardized work • Aims to devote 70% of his/her time to improvement actions • Define threshold and escalation of reaction modes to problems within his/her supervisory zone Assure daily management • Permanent presence on the shop floor: daily contact with all team members, close management of the lines • Manage headcount: plan the day before people allocation for the next day, plan also on a weekly basis • Coach GAP Leaders and team members in how to perform their role • Support and help to fix problems • Ensure discipline and rigor (safety, work wear, break times, working hours) • Ensure the respect of safety instructions, policies and procedures People Development • Participate in the selection and recruitment of employees • Ensure proper induction of new team members • Build training plan to increase team autonomy; ensure training and coaching of team members • Manage annual performance interviews for all team members • Plan development of the people (validation and support from UAP manager and Human Resources Manager when appropriate): training, job evolution • Validation of polyvalence • Ensure recognition upon individual performance: take part of the decision process. • Implement a minimum of 2 improvement ideas per month Health, Safety and Environment and working conditions • Ensure full respect of HSE rules and regulations • Responsible for immediate stopping of a line in case of safety risks • Lead HSE core teams and drive implementation to follow • Drive improvement of working conditions and ergonomics Team Work • Ensure transparent timely communication with managers and internal customers • Arrive before start of shift to ensure transfer of all information from the supervisor of previous shift • Participate with supervisory colleagues to improvement of PC&L performance • Participate to PC&L Top 5 and report line performance, successes and issues as well as action initiated Your profile and competencies to succeed Qualifications The ideal candidate will have/be: Minimum education level: Preferably a Bachelor’s degree Ability to utilize computer systems for PC&L activities and time keeping Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed Experience: • Preferably 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing supply chain/materials and/or warehousing environment. Skills and competencies: • Operational knowledge of manufacturing methods (Kanban, 5S, Hoshin, TPM…) • Strong sense of teamwork • Strong communication skills • Proven track record in upholding safety and quality standards • Drive For Results • Customer Focus The Employee is aware and ensures the respect of the Internal Rules, Code of Ethics and Management Code applicable in the establishment to which she/he is assigned.
