POSITION DETAILS Job Title: PBX Operator Status: This is a full-time, year-round, benefits eligible position. Classification: Non-Exempt - Hourly Schedule: M-F Location: This is an in-office position, primarily based at our Avon location. Pay Range: Starts at $20.00 - $22.00/hr. POSITION OVERVIEW The PBX Operator responds to incoming calls in a timely manner and directs callers to appropriate destination providing a smooth, clear and professionally courteous communication process. We are looking for someone ready to kick off a career in healthcare, helping our teams to provide excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing calls, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient communication within the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent; additional training in telecommunications is a plus.
  • Proficient in using telephone systems and related technology.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to fluently speak and understand English.
  • Ability to perform calmly, competently and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous PBX experience and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the PBX system to manage incoming calls and respond to multiple telephone lines.
  • Greet callers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Obtains necessary information and direct calls to the appropriate departments / extensions.
  • Take and relay messages accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with inquiries and provide information as appropriate.
  • Monitors all alarms located in PBX and notifies appropriate personnel as required.
  • Accurately utilizes the features of the PBX consoles, headsets, telephones and other related equipment.
  • Assists with maintaining cleanliness, safety and security of the PBX area.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form which may jeopardize the privacy of patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
