About The Position

Provides primary direction and leadership in Strategic Planning for the function. The PBM Business Development function is responsible for delivering value enhancement and creating new enterprise capabilities through joint venture, mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and internal build. Promotes corporate, operational and strategic development by identifying, evaluating and implementing new business opportunities and other projects. Performs research, quantitative analysis, and financial modeling that support strategic organization initiatives. Presents complex and challenging business issues to senior leadership. Guides multiple departments within a functional area or multiple departments across several functional areas from a project execution perspective with an emphasis on long term value creation. Develops, executes and enables strategic projects and integrates policy across several departments. Possesses significant freedom to act in the medium term and contributes to strategic policy decisions and long term margin growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in a related field or 8+ years PBM/ healthcare experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Experience in directing or working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Proven track record for success in leading projects consisting of high-performing teams in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated thought leadership on challenging problems with examples of implementing innovative analytic and operational solutions and driving outstanding results
  • Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills to work with external parties and various matrix partners, including but not limited to Finance, Legal, Technology and Human Resources
  • Ability to manage a vision and purpose with various business stakeholders and analytics teams
  • Effective leadership, prioritization and management of complex deliverable portfolio in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to efficiently develop insights from analytics and assess attractiveness of various concepts
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Supply Chain Business Development, serving as a subject-matter expert (SME) internally and externally, as needed, for large margin-driving projects, implementations and external contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with external business development contacts and other internal departments, such as all areas of Supply Chain, Sales and Account Management, Legal, Accounting, Technology, Human Resources and Finance to facilitate cross-functional initiatives key to margin growth.
  • Lead role in presenting about Business Development initiatives and broader Supply Chain strategic projects, as well as broader healthcare market landscape dynamics to senior leadership. Role will also be responsible for assisting in the development of strategic memos and presentations for executive and board discussions.
  • Manage tight deadlines for multiple competing priorities, scope, and converging opinions to solution in a timely manner. Responsible for medium-large sized projects / implementations from original concept through system implementation and maintenance, as required.
  • Exercise strong financial acumen and the ability to seamlessly gather and analyze data and using data to develop insights, and drive to appropriate conclusions about the strategic and financial attractiveness of concepts/initiatives.

Benefits

  • For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 150,900 - 251,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
