About The Position

JSM Airport Services is seeking a highly motivated PBB Senior Technician to join our growing team at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport. This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, starting with an expected commitment of one year or more. The PBB Sr. Technician is a senior-level role with varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the maintenance of the airport Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB). The primary function of this position is to provide electro-mechanical operational, preventative, and emergency maintenance support.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Development (GED).
  • Must be able to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics.
  • Must have at least 3(+) years of mechanical work experience
  • Must have at least 3(+) years of basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience with 120V, 480V, and 24V.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The applicant must be able to successfully pass a drug screen (we promote/maintain a Drug Free Workplace), a driver's license check, a background check, and required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging, for continued employment.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Job experience, professional development and continuing education may be substituted for educational experience)

Responsibilities

  • Work with a variety of tools/hand tools safely and properly, as well as utilize any/all appropriate safety and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Properly use a volt and amp meter
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks, which will include, but will not be limited to, cleaning of passenger boarding bridges and surrounding areas, as well as the removal of debris from between bridges.
  • Monitor system operations, diagnose equipment failures, and work with management on repair plans.
  • Perform major adjustments to ensure system functionality and reliability pertaining to both electrical and mechanical items.
  • Check temperature of components
  • Perform full replacement, rebuilding, and adjustment of components, including but not limited to bearings, motors, reducers, rollup doors, canopies, photoelectric cells, and pushbuttons.
  • Perform advanced replacement, set-up, and troubleshooting of electrical components including, but not limited to PLC's, sensors, local functional electrical switch boxes, VFD’s, check 24 volts, 110, 277, and 480 (both AC and DC), Magelis, power and control wiring, coils, contactors, and interlocks.
  • Read and understand wiring schematics.
  • Program settings in a computer controlled PBB
  • Attend requested/required training, demonstrating a willingness to learn.
  • Safety and compliance training is required.
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer.
