About the position
The Payroll Technician is responsible for performing various paraprofessional accounting tasks essential to the processing of payroll. This role involves reviewing payroll forms, processing payroll adjustments, and preparing journal entries related to payroll actions. The technician ensures accuracy and compliance in payroll processing and maintains employee records.
Responsibilities
- Audit timesheets for accuracy and compliance.
- Process payroll by calculating hours on timesheets.
- Complete registration of new employees.
- Create and submit grower invoices.
- Maintain employee records.
Requirements
- One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience in an office setting involving financial records and transactions.
- Completion of fifteen (15) semester units of accounting coursework from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Possession of a certificate of completion from an accounting, account clerk, bookkeeping, or related program is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with or ability to quickly learn payroll software.
- Professional written communication skills.
- Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
Nice-to-haves
- Completion of accounting coursework from an accredited institution.
- Experience in data entry (2 years preferred).
