The Payroll Technician is responsible for processing and maintaining accurate payroll records while serving as a knowledgeable resource for employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and non-insurance benefits. This role processes and updates employee data including direct deposit information, posts and maintains payroll ledgers, codes expenses and pay-related transactions such as adjustments and intra-government transfers, and compiles, runs, and verifies payroll reports to ensure accuracy and compliance. The Payroll Technician also issues and records pay adjustments including leave corrections, retroactive increases, prior paycheck errors, settlement payouts, and final paychecks. This position distributes off-cycle paychecks to appropriate personnel, researches discrepancies, and makes necessary corrections to maintain payroll integrity. Accuracy, confidentiality, and a strong commitment to service are essential to ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
