Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Three years of progressively responsible experience in financial or statistical record keeping.
• One year of payroll experience is highly desirable.
• Valid California Class C Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Escape software system for payroll management.

Responsibilities

• Receive and audit District time reports for various employee categories.
• Establish and maintain payroll records and process regular monthly and supplemental payroll.
• Review and audit payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify and track employee leaves such as sick leave and vacation.
• Process special payroll transactions such as retroactive pay and garnishments.
• Compile and maintain records and reports related to employee information and taxes.
• Interpret payroll policies and provide information to management and employees.
• Work closely with human resources to ensure proper pay status for employees.
