The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for the coordination of the payroll processing function by monitoring workflow, team assignments, and ensuring adherence to processing deadlines. Primary function of the role is ensuring payroll inputs/outputs are received and validated for accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, and company deductions. Assists payroll team members with resolving errors, responding to inquiries, and ensuring service level commitments are achieved. The Payroll Team Lead may prepare and/or distribute reports on pay/deduction information. This role will lead payroll processing activities including manual check production and check distribution. The Payroll Team Lead will establish/enforce payroll processing controls to help ensure payroll processing is accurate each pay cycle. Leading the team in payroll processing activities to ensure deadlines are met, timely follow up on inquiries are made, and that necessary contributions from all team members are made and each understand their role in achieving successful payroll results. This role will ensure consistency in payroll processing, policy application, and ensures cross functional knowledge exits and is documented for all areas of the payroll processing function. Assists payroll manager with special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
