About The Position

The Payroll Tax Services Analyst II at Conduent is responsible for solving payroll tax problems and analyzing solutions using technical expertise and judgment. This role involves extensive collaboration with peers and customer teams to support clients and resolve inquiries, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while maintaining data integrity and accuracy in payroll processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and tax (CPP is a plus).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in Payroll tax required.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax law and compliance procedures.
  • Proficiency in strong Excel skills, Access Query and general Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws.
  • Well versed in payroll compliance, taxes, and reporting.
  • ADP system application knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of all areas of employment tax processing (Payroll, Tax return filing, Tax audit).
  • Ability to work 8am-5pm EST Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track jurisdictional inquiries/requests tax applications to completion.
  • Review and research agency notices for assigned jurisdictions.
  • Independently perform various audits to ensure data integrity and identify error corrections needed.
  • Coordinate and run out of sequence payroll using the ADP system.
  • Tax return filings for Federal, State, Locals (Access query Knowledge Required).
  • Audit and prepare complex W2/W2c and process prior year balance adjustments coordinating with ADP.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax issues related to Federal, State and Local tax compliance.
  • Answer tax inquiries from employees, clients & internal staff.
  • Balance and reconcile tax transmission.
  • Projects/Testing and implementation of system updates for tax and compliance changes and work on Yearend project for Production W2.
  • Collaborate with various teams to complete payroll/tax issues.
  • Preview Payroll and coordinate with ADP to sign off on payroll run.
  • Tax agency registrations and reporting.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly quarterly matrix for the clients.
  • Reconcile payroll taxes at the employee level and provide necessary research and analysis to resolve agency-related payroll tax amendments in a timely manner.
  • Conduct training, knowledge transfer and/or participate in cross training.
  • Manage detailed procedures (DTP) for various processes.
  • Ensure adherence to sound business procedures and systems to meet all tax reporting and management control requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
