About The Position

The Squires Group is seeking a detail‑oriented and reliable Payroll Support professional to provide back‑fill assistance for our client during a major system implementation. In this role, you will support payroll processing, reconciliation, and employee pay inquiries to ensure continuity of operations throughout the transition period. You will work closely with payroll and HR teams to maintain accurate, compliant, and timely payroll activities. This role in onsite in Kingston, RI, and is open to Green Card Holders and U.S. Citizens .

Requirements

  • Experience with payroll processing in a complex or high‑volume environment.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems, including PeopleSoft/PSFT.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, regulations, and reporting.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer‑service‑oriented communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide back‑fill support for payroll processing during system implementation.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliation activities to ensure accurate pay and proper financial alignment.
  • Respond to employee pay inquiries and help resolve payroll‑related issues.
  • Support payroll operations by maintaining documentation and assisting with regular processing cycles.
  • Ensure adherence to payroll compliance requirements and reporting standards.
