  • Supervises and assists payroll staff in daily transactional processing of payroll.

  • Maintains payroll-related accounts and ensures accuracy of ledgers.
  • Performs functional testing of payroll systems during upgrades and revisions.
  • Provides guidance to the Payroll Manager and assists with audits and financial data requests.
  • Prepares accounting papers, schedules, and reconciliations according to SOP and laws.
  • Researches accounting treatment of complex transactions for compliance.
  • Prepares and approves transactions for timely payroll processing.
  • Advises staff on financial systems access and payroll processes.
  • Prepares off-cycle paychecks and reconciliations.
  • Studies and documents processes to improve efficiency.
  • Addresses complaints and adjusts errors in payroll systems.
  • Troubleshoots payroll processing issues.
  • Recommends training and resources for staff to meet departmental goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of experience in computerized payroll software.
  • One year of experience leading a group in providing work direction.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and data processing techniques.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and GAAP.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred.
