About The Position

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all employees receive accurate and timely pay while fully understanding their compensation. This role supports the Payroll Supervisor in auditing and verifying timekeeping records, including hours worked, deductions, and withholdings, to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The Payroll Administrator collaborates with multiple departments and employees to maintain an efficient and seamless payroll process. Key responsibilities include providing information and responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, issuing paychecks and managing direct deposits, tracking hours worked to ensure accurate payment, and maintaining up-to-date employee records. The Payroll Administrator also ensures that any employee changes are entered accurately and processed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Auditing and verifying timekeeping records

  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and the employer's social security, unemployment, and workers’ compensation payments
  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Resolves employee payroll issues that have implications beyond their own area
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
