About The Position

The Payroll Specialist at OrthoArkansas is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. This role focuses on maintaining payroll systems, processing payroll transactions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in supporting employees and maintaining the integrity of payroll operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience processing payroll required.
  • Background in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Intermediate: Payroll systems (ADP or similar), spreadsheets, word processing
  • Basic: 10-Key, data entry

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing and Administration
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including salaries, taxes, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Maintain payroll processing systems and ensure data accuracy.
  • Process payroll updates including department changes, pay rate adjustments, and employee status changes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
  • Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with payroll audits by providing necessary reports and documentation.
  • Payroll Reconciliation and Accuracy
  • Review payroll data for discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and verify payroll-related data to maintain consistency across systems.
  • Employee Support and Communication
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and pay discrepancies.
  • Provide clear and professional communication regarding payroll processes and timelines.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support payroll operations and organizational goals.
