Job Summary: Performs a variety of complex duties involved in processing payrolls, training new managers, monitoring employee change notices, assisting supervisor, and other HR related tasks.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience within a complex payroll system is required.
  • Computer skills, data entry and math skills.
  • Knowledge of Excel required.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Extended sitting, together with occasional bending, reaching and stooping.
  • Normal office conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • May include customer contact and telephone use.
  • Analytical skills, problem solving and calculating abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in Healthcare HR/Payroll setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the training and orientation of new managers to payroll functions
  • Responsible for payclass review and update.
  • Assists in the day to day efficient operation of the HR office; including phone coverage, faxes, employment verifications, walk-ins and mail.
  • Responsible for assisting in employee Shift Wizard schedule training.
  • Weekly time reports
  • Ensures timely processing of payroll.
  • Timely distribution of checks to Bristol Hospital employees and other corporations.
  • Edits corrections in time and attendance on-line system to ensure accurate pay processing.
  • Verifies that department transfers are accurate.
  • Checks PTO time for availability and eligibility.
  • Accounts payable advice
  • Responsible for the accounts payable remittance advices for weekly payroll deductions.
  • Acts as department backup for complete wage garnishment tracking including contacting the appropriate agency if necessary.
  • Maintains documentation and updates employee payroll deduction and withholding.
  • Reviews all weekly payroll reports and records.
  • Updates employee records in Paycom accordingly.
  • Responsible for all retroactive payments due to rate changes for Bristol Health employees on a timely basis.
  • Assists with audits of provider pay rates, shift differentials, and ladder program incentives
  • Provides W-2 compilation assistance for all corporations.
  • Employee wage verification for supervisor's review and authorization.
  • Performs additional related duties and/or projects as required or assigned by Supervisor.
  • Makes recommendations to improve the operation of HR/payroll systems and office workflow.
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the department while referring unusual situations to supervisor.
  • Provides the utmost confidentiality with all payroll records, wages and rates of pay.
  • Responsible for making sure all confidential documents are shredded.
  • As needed, responsible for short-term disability, and supplemental payrolls.
  • Presents payroll information for new hires during orientation.
  • Provides assistance to Department Heads, Administrative staff and others in dealing with questions and problems relating to the interpretation of payroll policies and procedures, referring unusual circumstances to supervisor.
