Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a payroll department.
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.

Nice To Haves

Payroll Certification from the American Payroll Association.
Experience with ADP, Paychex, Gusto or similar payroll systems.
Experience with labor law and payroll compliance.
Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, providing timely and precise information to employees and stakeholders.
Consistently updating payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles.
Balancing the payroll accounts by auditing information, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
