Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a payroll department.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Payroll Certification from the American Payroll Association.
  • Experience with ADP, Paychex, Gusto or similar payroll systems.
  • Experience with labor law and payroll compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, providing timely and precise information to employees and stakeholders.
  • Consistently updating payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles.
  • Balancing the payroll accounts by auditing information, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
