About The Position

Assist the Controller in the efficient operation of processing payroll and timely review of expense reports. Perform duties related to processing payroll, compiling payroll statistics, compensation reporting, maintaining payroll records and benefit deductions, in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws. Other job duties include reconciling separately managed accounts, quarterly client statement review and other projects which are assigned within the corporate accounting team. We are looking for a productive, ambitious, energetic individual with a hands-on approach, who works well in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Payroll/Accounting function
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with ADP (preferred WorkForce Now) required and SAP/Concur preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with strong Excel skills required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent time management skills and must be detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload, multi-task, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a financial services company preferred
  • Experience using Traverse accounting software & Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX), a plus but not required
  • Prior experience and knowledge pertaining to HR and benefits preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process employee paychecks, both for on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls and generate statements of earnings and deductions
  • Review and analyze payroll data and reports for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate posting to payroll records
  • Ensure payroll compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations.
  • Process paperwork for new employees and terminations and enter all information into the payroll system via onboarding system
  • Assist with new hire orientation
  • Compute wages and deductions and enter data into the payroll system
  • Manage employees’ 401k accounts and uploading contribution reports after payroll
  • Prepare and provide compensation and commission statements to employees
  • Prepare miscellaneous financial and operational reports in ADP upon request.
  • Assist the Controller with compensation reporting, employment verifications and employee year-end statements
  • Address employee payroll-related issues and questions in a timely manner.
  • Assist the corporate accounting team in reconciling separately managed accounts and investment accounts
  • Assist HR with employee leave programs (Paid Family Leave, disability, parental)
  • Assist HR with annual open enrollment and benefits
  • Review and approve expense reports in Concur
  • Assist with Accounts Payable related tasks and Month End closure as needed
  • Assist in special projects
