About The Position

Korn Ferry US is currently seeking for a Payroll Specialist The candidate possesses a strong understanding of Federal and State laws pertaining to labor, payroll, taxes, and maintains abreast of internal policy changes and new legal mandates. Pacific Time zone highly preferred. The person will be responsible for payroll processing activities, including the following: Display payroll operational best practices with regards to semi-monthly payroll functions. Process payroll and maintain payroll information as required. Data entry adjustments for all time and attendance and personal transactions (i.e. new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefits deductions, garnishments, direct deposit, W-4 elections, state withholdings certificates, etc.) into payroll system. (ADP) Vendor transactions including, flexible spending, 401K Cross-train designated back-up to administer and process time and attendance and payroll. Input other payroll data into ADP ( etc.:Bonuses, Stipends, and Stocks) Validate/audit hours from timekeeping system (New Hires, LOA) Selected processing of final payouts and preparation of manual check back-up and routing for approvals. Run audit reports from ADP and assist in audit and payroll balancing procedures. Ensuring prompt identification and resolution to potentially complex payroll issues. Performs standards control procedures and maintains payroll related records. Display good communication skills to ensure customer service standards are met. Assist employees with questions regarding pay issues. Assist with other payroll related special projects. Support payroll director including preparation of documents and follow-up on timelines and deliverables

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience in payroll processes as it relates to internal controls preferred (SOX/Sarbanes Oxley).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and meet deliverable and minimum supervision.
  • Excellent discipline in time management attention to detail, and analysis
  • BA in Business Administration, Accounting (Preferred) or equivalent work experience including knowledge of payroll related subject matters, process flows and analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • FPC or CPP certification is nice to have but not required
