About The Position

As a Payroll Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing payroll team implementations of new M&A businesses into existing ERP and HRIS systems, as well as existing businesses into new or upgraded systems. You will drive automation within the payroll team, serve as the primary point of contact for finance regarding general ledger data feeds, assist in validating payroll audits and controls, and provide leadership to support business process-related goals. Your role will also involve troubleshooting application issues, coordinating with teams to resolve these issues, and providing coaching and mentoring to team members.

  • Ability to work with IT during implementations to guide them and ensure system is setup appropriately for payroll
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Possess a sense of urgency to address critical technical issues
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to resolve issues
  • Ability to manage and multi-task assigned tasks
  • Flexibility to work off-hours and weekends when required
  • Ability to exercise best practices and decision making regarding systems development, deployment, implementation, and maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Project Manage payroll team implementations of new M&A businesses into existing ERP and HRIS systems
  • Project Manage payroll team implementations of existing businesses into new or upgraded ERP and HRIS systems
  • Drive automation within the payroll team by partnering with payroll and IT teams
  • Serve as primary point of contact for finance for general ledger data feeds
  • Assist the Director of Payroll in validating or establishing payroll audits and controls
  • Assist the payroll team in documenting processes and identifying opportunities for improvement or automation
  • Provide leadership to support and execute business process-related goals
  • Work with departments and users to facilitate resolution of issues
  • Deliver assistance, information, and reports in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and support all application issues
  • Coordinate with appropriate teams to resolve application-related issues
  • Provide professional and technical coaching, mentoring, and development plans
  • Develop technical reports, metrics, and specifications for trend analysis and remediation
  • Submit weekly summaries of progress and deliverables to team members
  • Communicate and gather requirements for deliverables
  • Temporarily supervise employees and payroll processes when other payroll managers are on PTO
