About The Position

Liberty Health is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll department and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role involves managing payroll processes, including time extraction from various systems, tax withholdings, and year-end reporting. The Payroll Manager will also supervise staff, maintain data integrity, and provide leadership in system development and project management. This position requires effective communication with other departments and the ability to stay current with payroll tax and labor laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or related field.
  • 5 years' supervisory experience in a payroll environment or 10 years of progressive payroll experience in a supervisory position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in a multi-state/multi-locality tax jurisdiction.
  • Lawson (Infor)/HR Payroll knowledge preferred.
  • Hospital-Healthcare payroll experience preferred.
  • Effective written and spoken language skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal payroll and related tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices, regulations, and procedures.
  • Exceptional writing skills for preparing and updating policies and procedures manuals.
  • Team player, reliable, and willing to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lawson (Infor) payroll system.
  • Experience in a healthcare payroll environment.

Responsibilities

  • Extract payroll time from INFOR (Lawson) payroll system, Genesis, Axxess, Web Time Net Health, and manual timesheets when required.
  • Ensure timely payment and filing of all tax withholdings and deductions on a bi-weekly, quarterly, or annual basis.
  • Oversee the supervision and training of Payroll department staff and field staff in timekeeping methodologies.
  • Maintain data integrity of payroll information in Axxess, Genesis, and Lawson/Infor.
  • Provide leadership in project and system development.
  • Provide payroll and labor data for regulatory and government agencies.
  • Enforce proper audit trails and internal controls related to payroll processing.
  • Manage unemployment requests and verifications of employment.
  • Oversee weekly and quarterly cash requirements and ensure accuracy of cash sheets.
  • Upgrade, test, and make changes to system parameters.
  • Plan ongoing departmental activities and provide reports to users.
  • Communicate with timekeepers to meet their needs.
  • Stay current with payroll tax and labor laws to ensure compliance.
  • Implement and maintain the Company 401(k) program and manage year-end auditing reports.
  • Manage the Liberty Fleet Lease and Company car programs, including taxability and year-end reconciliation.
  • Reconcile payroll bank accounts and ensure timely submission of taxes and transactions.
  • Manage the deferred compensation plan and 401(k) contributions.
  • Provide accurate estimates for Worker's Compensation audits and reconcile year-end reports.
