In this role, you will be a critical part of the employee compensation process and contribute to a process that supports the building blocks of employee growth. Requirements

  • 5+ Years of experience in a payroll function, preferably in a fast-paced/ public company environment.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll larger than 1,000 employees with both exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Detailed knowledge of payroll compliance and working knowledge of state/federal employment laws/regulations. Shift Differential experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-growing environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Possess a tech-savvy mindset and passion for end-to-end design and improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with various levels of difficulty in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a spreadsheet (MS Excel and Google), word processing (MS Word and Google). Advanced Excel Skills preferred.
  • 3+ Years of Experience as a supervisor or lead in a payroll team

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions.
  • Process adjustments and other Miscellaneous files, e.g., 401k, bonus, OT and commissions.
  • Assist with review and audit of the weekly and biweekly payroll runs.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Oversee the administration of the electronic timekeeping system.
  • Fosters the Company's core values and culture throughout the work environment.
  • Coaches and provide leadership, motivation, and supervision of direct reports.
  • Full-cycle processing weekly and biweekly multi state US payrolls while incorporating payroll data from multiple internal departments and external benefit providers. This includes maintaining supporting documentation for authorization for all changes.
  • Process off-cycle payroll batches, as necessary.
  • Assist with payroll compliance matters such as multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, garnishments, and key annual audits (e.g., 401 (k), workers compensations, external financial audit).
  • Identify opportunities and recommend scalable processes to enhance payroll operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy. This includes assisting the Payroll Manager with the design and implementation of internal control measures and periodic review of compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Reconcile and validate 401(k)/Roth contributions, Benefit files and other third party vendor files and resolve discrepancies
