About The Position

At RED RHINO, taking care of our people starts with getting payroll right, and that’s where you come in! As our Payroll Manager, you’ll lead the payroll function, ensure every RHINO is paid accurately and on time, and keep all processes compliant, organized, and running strong. This position works cross-functionally to solve issues, supports the team, and protects the integrity of our payroll systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience
  • Deep expertise in payroll processing, systems, and multi-state compliance with a track record of accuracy and reliability
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across functions while driving accountability
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong data integrity standards and discretion handling sensitive information
  • Strong communicator who can confidently support employees and partner with leadership
  • Highly organized, solutions-oriented problem solver with experience supporting audits and meeting critical deadlines
  • Drug screening and criminal background checks will be performed on all new hires.

  • CPP certification or degree in accounting/finance strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the payroll team, ensuring accountability, performance, and alignment with company standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including wages, deductions, taxes, and retirement/benefits administration.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll records, reporting, and tax documentation (including W-2s).
  • Maintain strict compliance with payroll laws, company policies, and audit requirements, including garnishments and filings.
  • Manage payroll systems and processes, including troubleshooting, enhancements, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Technology teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and support payroll-related initiatives.
