About The Position

This role is within Fello’s Self-Directed Services department where we contract with the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) as a Financial Management and Counseling Services (FMCS) provider. In this Medicaid program, participants are the Employer of Record and hire their own workers and choose their services, while Fello handles all administrative tasks including payroll and bill payment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance/payroll experience.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role processing payroll for 1,000+ employees per pay cycle.
  • Significant experience managing payroll operations for large employee groups.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, payroll systems, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in payroll and general ledger software required.
  • Knowledge of Paycom and Intact is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the Payroll Administrative team.
  • Facilitate a high level of customer service for all participant employers and employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
  • Submit payroll-related reports and payroll taxes.
  • Resolve issues while exhibiting professionalism, responsiveness, and teamwork.
  • Serve as a member of Fello’s Leadership Council.
