About The Position

Briggs, Inc of Omaha is in search of a Payroll & Human Resources (HR) Generalist. The successful candidate for this role will have previous knowledge, experience, or background in payroll and human resources and be a flexible team player. This position includes an initial 90-day probationary period during which performance will be evaluated. Successful completion of the probationary period will result in full-time employment. This is a day shift with pay starting between $30-$35/hr. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are a must!

Requirements

  • Demonstrating knowledge of and proficiency with software including Microsoft Suite, Paylocity, and other operating software are required
  • Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Experience in the Human Resources field is desired, particularly in the areas of recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, and HR policy administration
  • Detail-oriented when ensuring the workplace is compliant with labor standards, maintaining records, reviewing candidate qualification and background checks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and able to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-confident and comfortable presenting information and ideas to members of the leadership team
  • Innovative and able to solve problems

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tasks spanning across all areas of the HR department including payroll, benefits, employee engagement, onboarding, recruiting, compliance, and training
  • Bi-weekly, Semi-monthly and Monthly payroll entry and processing
  • Processing paperwork for new hires and terminations
  • Respond to basic inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, company policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Initial recruiting tasks including posting jobs ads, sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, and conducting first-round interviews
  • Assist in planning and facilitating meetings, events, trainings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
