About The Position

Lead and optimize payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic insights through data analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • Effective interpersonal and communication (oral, written and listening) skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from data.
  • Handle confidential information in a discrete manner are crucial.
  • Deliver results, through strong partnership, with customers, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and influence peers by demonstrating a passion for the business.
  • Completed, or working toward, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and/or Canada Payroll Association Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve complex payroll-related issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
  • System Management: Manage payroll systems and software, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.
  • Employee Support: Provide support and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
  • Audit and Reconciliation: Conduct regular audits and monthly reconciliations of payroll data to ensure accuracy.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for payroll staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and supporting various payroll-related tasks
