About The Position

Partner with Payroll, Finance, and HR stakeholders to understand functional needs and translate them into technical configurations across Workday and other payroll-related technologies. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, and integrated payroll systems. Demonstrated ability to stay current with advancements in payroll technology and proactively explore emerging solutions beyond Workday to enhance compliance, efficiency, and cost optimization. Own the full lifecycle of payroll-related requests – from intake and requirements gathering to configuration, testing, deployment, and documentation. Analyze payroll and labor processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining compliance and accuracy. Configure and maintain payroll business processes, security roles, integrations, and custom reports across all supported technologies. Monitor labor efficiency metrics and provide actionable insights to reduce labor costs without compromising service quality. Manage and prioritize a pipeline of requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Lead or support system upgrades, enhancement projects, and tenant refreshes. Collaborate with Workday Support and/or third-party vendors when needed to troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll issues. Provide training and support to end users and stakeholders on new payroll functionality and processes. Ensure data integrity through audits, testing, and governance best practices. Up to 25% of travel is required.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on configuration experience with Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, and related payroll technologies.
  • Proven track record managing stakeholder relationships and delivering payroll system solutions that align with business needs and cost-efficiency goals.
  • Deep understanding of payroll business processes, security, calculated fields, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret payroll data, labor metrics, and system behavior to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
