MCC, Inc. is looking for motivated and detail-oriented candidates to join our team as a Lead Payroll Assistant. This position involves overseeing and performing daily tasks related to the timely processing of weekly payroll. The Lead Payroll Assistant will work with the payroll team to calculate daily and weekly time cards, import and audit electronic data into the payroll system, process weekly deductions or garnishments, and ensure successful paper check or ACH processing. The role also includes performing audits, verifications, and reporting, such as processing W2s and unemployment data. The ideal candidate must possess a high mathematical aptitude and the ability to ensure confidentiality and accuracy throughout the full payroll cycle. A team-oriented approach and the ability to establish positive working relationships with various departments are essential for ensuring efficient accounting processing and business operations.

  • Oversee and perform daily tasks related to the timely processing of weekly payroll.

  • 2 years of payroll processing or accounting experience in a related field preferred.
  • Associate degree in accounting or another related field helpful, but not required.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot or problem-solve.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work within scheduled deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the willingness to take on additional responsibilities with training.
  • Ability to take directives from a variety of people and departments for efficient operations.
  • Demonstrated dependability and trustworthiness with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (both general and technical).
  • Basic understanding of Excel and Microsoft Office with the ability to adapt to various computer programs through training.
