As a Payroll Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for both field and support center team members across the U.S. and Canada. You’ll work closely with internal teams to maintain payroll accuracy, support compliance, and provide insights that help drive business decisions. This is a hybrid role based in our Ashburn, VA Support Center, reporting to the Payroll Director, and requires flexibility to support multiple time zones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll processes across the U.S. (Canada experience a plus).
  • Experience with payroll systems; SAP SuccessFactors HRMS preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle payrolls for employees across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces using HRMS.
  • Upload and validate time and attendance data from HotSchedules into payroll systems.
  • Prepare periodic, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc payroll reports, and update tax notices in ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Troubleshoot payroll issues using system expertise and analytical skills to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including taxes, pay rates, and personal information.
  • Communicate with managers and employees across multiple locations to resolve payroll inquiries.
  • Process stop payments and direct deposit reversals as needed.
  • Prepare General Ledger (GL) reports and post payroll journal entries into SAP.
  • Build strong working relationships while maintaining strict confidentiality of employee and company data.
  • Process and file Multiple Worksite reports in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain regular attendance in alignment with SSP America attendance policies.
  • Support additional payroll and administrative tasks as assigned.
