About The Position

The Payroll Analyst will coordinate and support day-to-day payroll and HCM operations. In this role, you’ll serve as a critical link between Payroll and other departments, ensuring seamless data flow, compliance with regulatory requirements, and accurate processing of payroll, time, and attendance data. You'll play a key role in reporting, system testing, audits, and special projects, while also acting as a subject matter expert in payroll analytics and workforce management systems. Under direct supervision, you will compile and process necessary information in the Dayforce HCM system including Payroll, Time and Attendance (WFM), Leave of Absence administration, and sales commission database. Process weekly payroll and quarterly and annual bonus incentive payments for Exempt, Non-Exempt, and commissioned sales employees. This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor and works closely with the Payroll Manager to support continuous improvement across payroll and HCM functions. Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years multi-state payroll experience within a centralized payroll department.
  • Experience with Dayforce HCM system required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication supported with strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Experience with bonus incentives, fringe benefits, state disability, and commission programs in a retail environment required.
  • Knowledge of current wage and hour and labor laws for U.S. states.
  • Hybrid work schedule may require working outside regular office hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with electronic pay card systems is preferred.
  • C.P.P. (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and verifies all necessary information in the HCM (Dayforce) system.
  • Reviews and validates electronic time records for regulatory compliance prior to payroll transmission.
  • Processes and verifies weekly commission calculations and payments for sales teams located in MA, NH, ME, RI, and CT.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing and production of weekly or special payrolls and off-cycle and bonus payments.
  • Responds to and processes data inquiries from third party vendors (government agencies, legal/financial institutions) and processes and issues payments for federal, state, and third-party wage and tax garnishments and child support withholding orders.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state tax regulations as well as wage and hour laws.
  • Contributes to and supports system updates and testing for HCM system upgrades or implementations.
  • Recommends and assists with implementing processes or system improvements to efficiently manage HCM system functions.
  • Assists with day-to-day tasks and other special projects as needed.
