About The Position
Newport News Shipbuilding is looking for a qualified Payroll Analyst to join our Payroll team. The Payroll Analyst will lead and support the Garnishment team by administering involuntary deductions such as child support, tax levies (state and federal) and similar obligations. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with state specific and federal statutes. This position works collaboratively with various internal departments, including Human Resources, Benefits, and Legal to ensure timely collection and payment of garnishments. An ideal candidate will have the ability to manage and execute the coordination of multiple projects within required timeframes and expectations; demonstrate excellence in oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Demonstrate the ability to perform detail-oriented tasks; interact, coordinate, follow up, and effectively communicate with other team members, State and Federal Courts, and Attorneys.
