About The Position

The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services is seeking a Payment Specialist to support their Children Services Act (CSA) team. This role is crucial in helping families access essential services and involves creating and managing treatment plans in collaboration with children, families, and professionals. The Payment Specialist will also handle the financial aspects of the program, including processing purchase orders and invoices, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; associate's degree in business, office administration or a related field preferred.
• Five years of experience in increasingly responsible administrative support work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Courses in business education and progressive responsible secretarial experience preferred.
• Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, CPS registry check, and education/degree verification required.
• Current valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual abilities in Spanish and ASL.
• Master's degree in social work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with children, families, and professionals to create personalized treatment plans.
• Coordinate with local providers to implement treatment plans effectively.
• Process a high volume of purchase orders and invoices using specialized software.
• Review and analyze documentation for compliance.
• Maintain accurate records for vendor accounts and resolve inquiries.
• Enter, maintain, and manage data in electronic client case files.
• Develop and utilize spreadsheets for data tracking and reporting.
• Perform other work as required.
