About The Position

The Payment Posting Specialist at TEKsystems is responsible for accurately receiving, reviewing, and posting batches of payments for MedStar Health. This role involves electronic and manual payment processing, ensuring compliance with departmental standards, and assisting in training new hires. The specialist will work with various systems to manage payment postings and resolve discrepancies, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Cash Applications Department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with medical cash posting, payment posting, or medical billing and AR follow-up preferred.
• Experience posting 365 cash posting files.
• Experience with electronic posting and reconciliation.
• EOB experience required; must understand claim denials and approvals.
• At least one year of payment posting experience required.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Medical billing and coding certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with hospital billing.
• Knowledge of CRCS-I training and bulletin review.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and post batches of payments electronically or manually for MedStar Health.
• Access the Cash Pro system daily to create lockbox balancing reports and post payments.
• Review and post all batches daily, verifying totals against system-generated reports.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues related to payment postings.
• Create and maintain daily reports in Excel for Bank of America lockbox.
• Attend training sessions and complete required Continuing Education Units (CEU).
• Contribute to departmental goals and adhere to policies and quality standards.
• Maintain daily performance benchmarks and departmental QA standards.
• Participate in PFS workgroups, staff meetings, and work events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
