About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a dedicated individual to join the United Business Office as a full-time employee. This position is under the general direction of the Medical Faculty Group Business Manager and involves reviewing and resolving complex reconciliations, preparing reports and status updates for management review, and actively analyzing financial processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and standardization. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the MFG Finance Office and other internal teams to continually improve the quality and responsiveness of their responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in hospital billing, accounting, and/or payment posting.
  • Reconciliation experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and extensive problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to ensure reconciliations are accurate, troubleshoot and resolve matching logic, and provide clarifying resolution information to Management.
  • Run standard reconciliation reports and identify trends, ensuring appropriate back-up for accuracy and data integrity.
  • Extensive problem solving and ensuring the integrity of reconciliation data, balances, and timeliness of reporting.
  • Make day-to-day interpretations and decisions on accounting treatment of financial transactions and respond to Inbox/In basket requests.
  • Streamline processes and ensure billing consistency across the enterprise.
  • Work on related implementations/projects of builds, designs, and operational system functionality upgrades.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Assist or advise other Billing Managers/Team Leads/Accountants with information as needed.
  • Assist with analyses and preparation for audits.
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
