About The Position

PEPL is seeking an experienced Payroll Consultant to join our growing managed services team. The Payroll Consultant will support accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for our clients. This role will specialize in payroll administration within Paylocity, ensuring all employees are paid correctly while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is a fully remote, part time role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience, with direct expertise in Paylocity required.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and multi-state payroll practices.
• Experience processing payroll for car dealerships is highly preferred.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools a plus.

Nice To Haves

• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll cycles in Paylocity, including data entry, review, and submission.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data such as hours worked, deductions, benefits, taxes, and garnishments.
• Partner with HR and managers to resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for HR, Finance, and leadership teams.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits, tax filings, and year-end reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.).
• Identify process improvements and provide guidance on best practices for payroll operations.
• Train and support HR/Payroll team members and stakeholders on system functionality as needed.
