Ocean Infinity is seeking Payload Technicians with remote seabed drilling experience to operate and maintain our new fleet of Ocean Drills that will be deployed from our Armada Series vessels

Requirements

  • Technical or operational background in Geotechnical drilling systems
  • Mechanical and / or electrical experience
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Good practical experience with office tools: MS Office, Google Drive, Teams, e- mail, among others
  • Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team
  • Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking and ability to show initiative
  • Open and receptive to new and different ideas
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet

Nice To Haves

  • Marine based technical qualifications
  • Hydraulics maintenance experience
  • Forklift license
  • First Aider

Responsibilities

  • Operate our Ocean Drill systems under the supervision of the Ocean Drill Supervisor to perform tasks as described in the project task plans or work scope
  • Be proficient in maintaining and fault finding the equipment to a high standard
  • Travel globally on a 4 week on and 4 week off rotation to assist in the mobilisation and maintenance of Ocean Drill and any other Ocean Infinity geotechnical asset as required
  • Travel globally on a 4 week on and 4 week off rotation to operate Ocean Drill and any other geotechnical asset from the Armada Series or third party vessels
  • You will work as part of a wider team of colleagues with similar or same competence and duties to support our geotechnical assets in the field and in company workshops as required
  • Work closely with the Ocean Drill Superintendents to ensure geotechnical assets, spares and all other associated equipment are maintained and operable, thus maximising the assets uptime and productivity
  • Be responsible for the performance of tasks within the preventative maintenance program as assigned and delegated by the Ocean Drill Supervisor. The updating of maintenance records and recording of tasks completed falls within this scope
  • Be able to recognize deteriorating environmental conditions and react accordingly under the supervision of the Ocean Drill Supervisor
  • The Payload technician shall be vigilant in monitoring all screens, sensors and parameters whenever operating Ocean Drill - when the Ocean Drill is in operation and when in Stand By
  • Work in a manner that ensures their own and their co-worker’s safety
  • Be familiar with the applicable sections of the company HSE policy and actively participate in all safety related briefing such as Toolbox Talks related to the assigned system or tasks
  • Responsible for maintaining awareness during the performance of their duties, recognizing the effect changes which may have on safe performance
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all colleagues
  • Participate in project briefing and familiarization meetings held
  • Champion new technology with a focus on autonomous operations and robotics
