Within Aeroflow Health, the Payer Relations/Managed Care team partners closely with health plans across Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, IPA, and TPA markets to expand access to covered services and strengthen payer relationships nationwide. The team supports Aeroflow’s DME and professional service offerings, including Lactation Consultants, Registered Dietitians, and Doulas. As a Payer Relations/Managed Care Associate, you will support payer-facing initiatives by managing relationships, coordinating operational execution, and translating payer requirements into actionable guidance for internal teams. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, takes ownership of their work, and is eager to grow within payer relations and healthcare operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with payer partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a concise manner.
  • Action-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
  • Comfortable learning new systems, processes, and payer requirements in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in payer relations, provider network management, healthcare operations, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Commercial, Medicaid, and or Medicare health plans.
  • Proficiency with payer portals, internal systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel at least quarterly for payer meetings, conferences, or team collaboration events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting payer contract negotiations.
  • Prior experience in payer relations, provider network management, or healthcare account management.
  • Familiarity with IPAs and TPAs.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Transferable experience demonstrating relationship management, strategic problem-solving, or project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing payer partners while identifying opportunities for new partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies aligned with health plan goals and Aeroflow’s objectives.
  • Engage with Senior Manager to Director-level leadership at health plans to address claims issues, policy updates, and service improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between payer partners and Aeroflow’s sales, marketing, and operational teams to ensure alignment with payer expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Support the identification and pursuit of new payer contracting opportunities to expand network access and service coverage.
  • Oversee the maintenance of fee schedules to ensure accuracy and alignment with reimbursement requirements.
  • Review and analyze payer policy updates, providing internal teams with clear summaries and actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with payer-related regulatory requirements and remain current on industry trends.
  • Manage key operational processes through internal systems and payer portals.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on payer relations processes and workflows.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and opportunities to improve payer partnership performance.
  • Prepare and present findings to senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop reports and processes that improve operational efficiency and team performance.
