About The Position

The Pay Station Clerk at Hy-Vee is responsible for providing prompt and friendly service to customers, operating the cash register, replenishing supplies, and assisting with cleaning tables. Requirements

• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to make change and understand verbal or demonstrated instructions.
• No formal education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by noting and passing along suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service to callers.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Operates cash register accurately, scans products, and reports improper cash levels.
• Redeems promotional coupons and processes various payment methods.
• Maintains adequate supply of silverware, condiments, and beverage cups.
• Refills and maintains coffee service area supplies.
• Practices proper sanitation procedures and keeps the work area clean.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Benefits

• Anticipated hourly starting wage of $13.00 to $16.25 depending on experience.
