From New Hampshire's Eastern Turnpike corridor to every major interstate highway and many state routes in northern New England our local construction management division and inspection team has overseen and inspected thousands of highway paving miles, over the past twenty-five years. WSP is currently initiating a search for a Paving Construction Inspector to help oversee multiple types of urban and rural pavement rehabilitation or preservation projects with construction values ranging from $1-$25 million. This position can be based out of Merrimack, NH Portland, Augusta or Eliot, ME, Waterbury, VT. The inspector will oversee various work elements including asphalt shimming, milling, reclaiming, filling, compacting, drainage improvements, striping and other incidental items. The inspector will report to the Resident Engineer, and may routinely, or periodically act as their representative, depending on experience. Your Impact Interfacing with contactors and attending meetings. Mentoring or supervising other inspectors, on behalf of resident engineer, or project manager. Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities. Coordinate independent material sampling and testing. Monitor maintenance of traffic. Take and compile photographs, for tracking of daily progress. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Who You Are

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 7 years applicable experience
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
  • Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite.
  • NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3-months of hiring.
  • Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam.
  • Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered.
