About The Position

The Paving Machine Operator’s primary function is to operate the asphalt paving machines that lay and finish asphalt. May perform manual labor such as showving, spreading gravel and maintaing equipment. The operator must perform daily maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor. In addition, the operator may be required to perform minor repairs to the equipment and is expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check
  • A valid driver's license and a clean motor-vehicle record
  • Previous experience operating a Paver and/or other asphalt equipment

Responsibilities

  • Uses specialized machines to spread asphaltover a surface.
  • Performs minor routine maintenance on paving machines and other paving equipment and tools.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning prior to starting work.
  • Prior to every use, evaluate the equipment and confirm that the equipment from a mechanical and safety standpoint is ready to use.
