Requirements

• Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time.
• Ability to perform motions such as climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, driving, pushing, pulling, vibration, twisting, kneeling, throwing and reaching.
• May be required to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete the jobs within specifications.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, and time of shift changes.
• Must pass drug test and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operates an asphalt paver machine, rubber or track type.
• Manipulates hand or foot levers to control the movements of the paving machine.
• Spreads and levels asphaltic concrete on subgrade highway and related surfaces such as parking lots and streets.
• Oils, greases, services and makes normal operating adjustments to the equipment.
• Performs other related duties, such as adding or removing screed extensions and installing or removing automatic devices.
• Partners with other crewmembers to pave roadways utilizing the equipment.
• Performs additional tasks of other positions per plan specifications as instructed by crew foreman.
• Guides and directs dump trucks while backing up to the machine hopper.
