Patients Account Rep/Collector
About The Position
The Texas Business Center, located in Denton, TX just north of Dallas and Fort Worth, is seeking a dynamic and talented Patient Account Representative/Collector. The Patient Account Representative/Collector is responsible for the billing, follow-up, and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers to resolve all outstanding owed balances; works closely with collection agencies for bad debt recovery. This position reports daily to the Texas Business Center located at: 5800 N-I35, Suite 505, Denton, Texas 76207.
Requirements
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care collections or related field, or any combination of education, training, or experience in a health care business office environment.
- Experience with insurance billing, computer and business software programs (Excel) preferred.
- Additional Requirements: This position may require flexible hours, to include overtime.
Responsibilities
- Provide account and billing information to patients, insurance companies and/or collection agencies
- Control collection efforts of accounts in an organized, professional, and efficient manner
- Analyze accounts to determine correct insurance payment based on contract rate and patient's share.
