About The Position

The Patient Transporter at AdventHealth Winter Park is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients and related items within the healthcare facility. This role emphasizes outstanding customer service and adherence to safety protocols while facilitating patient transfers and maintaining a clutter-free environment.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and respond to customers' needs in a professional manner.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English using good diction.
• Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.
• Basic Life Support (CPR Certification) is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients via stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs.
• Moves patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently.
• Assists in the safe transfers of customers from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Records transport activities accurately using the Transportation EMR system.
• Utilizes PPE appropriately and follows HIPAA, OSHA, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas.
• Completes annual competencies related to BARE Facts, NPSGs, PPDs, and CPR refresher courses.
• Performs other duties as required.
