About The Position

The Patient Transporter at Sutter Health is responsible for coordinating in-house patient transportation and lift services, ensuring safe and timely transport of patients throughout the facility. This role involves handling patients with complex medical equipment and delivering deceased patients to the mortuary, all while adhering to safety and privacy regulations. The position requires effective communication and the ability to gain the trust of patients and their families.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate in-house patient transportation requests.
• Provide safe and timely patient transportation service throughout the facility.
• Handle patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, and Foley catheters.
• Deliver deceased patients to the mortuary following policy and procedure.
• Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
• Perform specific tasks and orient other staff to the department as needed.
