About The Position

As a Patient Transporter at Main Line Health's Hospitals, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and prompt transport of patients throughout the hospital facilities. This position requires a polite, spirit-of-service attitude toward patients and co-workers, ensuring a friendly, efficient, and responsive approach while performing job duties. You will be responsible for transporting inpatients and same-day surgery patients, assisting nursing staff, maintaining oxygen tanks, redistributing transport equipment, and ensuring confidentiality and cleanliness of transport equipment. The role also involves providing assistance during disaster situations and requires working every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Requirements

• Proven experience within customer service.
• Minimum of a High School/GED is preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation and assistance during disaster situations.
• Display a polite, spirit-of-service attitude toward patients and co-workers.
• Transport inpatients and same-day surgery patients to and from any area in the hospital using the Inter Serve System.
• Assist nursing staff with transferring patients, stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.
• Maintain oxygen tanks for transportation and manage regulators for O2 transport tanks.
• Redistribute wheelchairs, stretchers, etc. to appropriate units on an average of 4 times for each 8-hour shift.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and other information.
• Follow established department guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing patient transport equipment.
• Ensure special care is taken when transporting patients with drainages, IVs, and oxygen.
