About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Patient Transporter at Chilton Medical Center.  Required hours are: 7:00AM-3:00PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50/hr. Essential Function/Responsibilities: 1. Ascertains patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or verbal instructions.  2. Guides or escorts incoming patients from admitting office or reception desk to designated area.  3. Carries patient's luggage. 4. Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patient, using wheelchair.  5. Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within facility during patient stay.  6. Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: 1. HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required. 2. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. 3. Ability to work well under time constraints.  4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat and stands for long periods of time, bends, lifts, pushes and pulls up to 50 lbs. Relevant Experience: 1. CPR certification preferred.
