Position Summary: The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center. The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments.

Requirements

High diploma or GED preferred
Obtaining and the maintenance of CPR preferred
Requires 6-12 months of experience in customer service or hospital experience
Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pulling and standing.
Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff.
Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.
Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work.
