About The Position

UPMC is looking for a dedicated Patient Transporter to join our team and play a vital role in delivering exceptional care. This part-time position works second shift (11:00 a.m. – Midnight), including an every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. Key Responsibilities: Safely transport patients and equipment between units and treatment areas Deliver supplies, equipment, and medications promptly and accurately, ensuring proper handoff to nursing staff Perform inspections and disinfect transportation equipment Accurately record transportation data in tracking systems Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a courteous, professional demeanor Why UPMC? Competence in operating transport equipment safely and effectively. May enter rooms where medications are stored or transport medications when accompanying patients. Medication transport is limited to movement between departments only.

Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required, based on AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components, within 30 days of hire.
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)
Act 33 (with renewal)
Act 34 (with renewal)
Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)

Responsibilities
